Chiari.
It’s a strange little word about to change Nick and Brenna St. James’ world forever.
Brenna was raised to believe love conquers all. Losing piece after piece of herself causes her to waver in her beliefs. Insecurities abound and she can’t stop wondering if Nick can love the person she is now. Is it fair to ask him to?
Nick wants a do over. To go back to a time before Brenna was sick, before everything changed. But genies don’t exist, life doesn’t grant wishes, and time machines haven’t been invented. All he can do is follow his heart...and his heart wants Brenna.
Together, they have to face a battle they never imagined.
When fighting is all you have left…
When love can't heal everything…
When life rests in the balance of the unknown...
When their vows, “…in sickness and in health”, are put to the test…
Will Nick and Brenna be able to fight through the odds stacked against them, or will everything come crumbling down?

Thank you for the memories!
Happy Friday Friends!
This time next week, I will celebrate two milestones. The release of my 8th novel "Happily Forever After" and my three year publishing anniversary. Three years? seriously? How did I get here? It's a question I ask myself over and over again, and sometimes cry when the answer hits me.
In recent years, I have had to get through some difficult personal losses in my life. I thought losing my parents was probably the hardest event in my life I could ever get through, but then the unthinkable happened, my eldest sister, Jeanie past away suddenly with Leukemia. It was the biggest shock of our lives hearing she was sick. With Jeanie's loss, I suffered one more that nearly destroyed me. I don't really like to talk about it, and only a small number of people know the story. With losing Jeanie to a cancer none of us saw coming, I then lost another person in my life, my sister Cathy. It has been seven years since I have heard her voice, or have seen her face. Seven years since I have hugged her and told her that I loved her. We had something between us that I believed was special and lasting, but I was wrong. A bigger power broke us, and with all the pain I went through, I have remained on the sidelines and choose to love her from a distance.
With all my writing accomplishments, not a day goes by that I don't long to share my happiness with my sisters, but that is a dream that is long gone. I can only hope that Jeanie is watching me from heaven and is smiling down on me. As for Cathy, I hope she is happy in her life.
This post was not meant to be sad, so don't be. I like to take time to always reflect where I have been and where I am going. We only have a short time in this world. I try to make the most out of every single day God has given me. I fill my life with my family, friends, and so many things that make me smile.
Losing my sister was so profound, that on some days I didn't believe I could move forward. I wanted her back with me, and with all who loved her. I wanted my daily 8:30 morning call with her again. I wanted her with me at my first book signing, I wanted my sister. It took getting through the anger, pain, and regret to get me where I am today.
I am a romance novelist at 45 years old. Yeah, I still pinch myself. I have seven published novels under my name, and soon number eight. I certainly cannot predict the future and I am done agonizing over the past. What I have is today, and I can tell you my friends how happy I am to be on this journey, and sharing it with you.
Thank you for taking the ride with me. I hope to bring you many more book boyfriends to swoon over in the coming years. You never forget your beginning. It's the unknown. The middle is filled with highs and lows, and so much joy in between. The ending? I'm not there yet, not by a long shot. We will just have to put that on hold and see where life takes me next.
With love,
Mary

Happy Valentine's Day from Walker & Reese
A
Forever Valentine’s Day…
By: Mary A. Wasowski
I am a selfish man when it comes to taking what I
want. I never denied being anything else, but when it comes to my wife, I
simply lose all ability to think straight. Reuniting with Reese Mitchell and
blending our families together have made me the happiest man alive, and now
with the birth of our daughter, life could not get any sweeter. Okay, maybe it
could…
Today’s the day, six weeks to be exact. I have had the
date circled on my calendar, and—an added bonus—it’s Valentine’s Day. This is
how long I have been waiting to make love to my beautiful wife.
I left Reese sleeping soundly to finalize all of the
arrangements for her special surprise. I filled our bedroom with all of her
favorite flowers and one long stemmed red rose beside my pillow. When I
returned to our bedroom, she was awake and holding the rose to her lips—lips I
would be devouring very soon. She knew the hunger in my eyes, a ravenous need
only my beloved could fulfill.
“Good morning. Sleep well?” I asked as I made my way
over to her.
“I did. Thank you for the flowers. What’s the
occasion?”
“Is that a serious question? Or are you playing with
my emotions?”
She was now within reach, and I did not hesitate to
take her in my arms, especially knowing she was very naked underneath the
sheet.
“I wouldn’t dare play with your emotions, my love,” she
said as she wrapped her arms around my neck and crushed her mouth down to mine,
only deepening my desire to take her right now. “Happy Valentine’s Day,
Walker.”
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Reese. This is a day that took
nearly twenty years to celebrate with you.”
“I’m here now, Walker, and I forever will be. We don’t
need a special day to celebrate our love. You show me every single day.”
“As do you, my love, but today is different.”
“Yes, I know. You’ve been waiting six weeks. I saw
your calendar. I’ve missed you so much, but I’m not sure if I’m ready.”
I cupped her face in my hands and made her look at me.
“What do you mean, baby? Are you alright?”
“I’m sorry, Walker. I didn’t mean to scare you like
that.”
“Talk to me. What’s going on in that beautiful head of
yours?”
“Beautiful? Oh, Walker, how can you say that? Look at
me, I’m a mess.”
Tears began to form in her eyes, which always gutted
me deep down to my soul. How could Reese doubt herself? And to me, of all
people?
“Reese, where are these tears coming from? You are the
most gorgeous woman on the planet and the mother of my child. I love every inch
of you. I am dying to be inside of you again. Reese, you are my goddess.”
“You never see me any other way, do you?”
“No, I don’t. You know I am a beast when it comes to
how I feel about you. I will take you any way that I can have you, and you know
that. Reese, you are breathtaking, and having our child has just made you
beyond desirable to me. I am a starved man and need all of you for my survival.
Please allow me to show you how much I love and want you.”
“You don’t play fair, Walker. What about Fallon? I
don’t know if I can leave her.”
“I thought you might say that, and I have arranged the
best caregiver to watch over our princess.”
“Walker, I don’t know if I’m comfortable leaving her.”
As any new mom would be, Reese was hesitant to leave
our baby, but I assured her that our princess would be in very loving and
capable hands. I knew my woman, and I came prepared and brought in the
reinforcements. I pulled out my phone and speed-dialed a number. Reese was
staring at me with wide eyes, wondering what I was up to. I got up to hand
Reese her robe.
“Better cover up, love. Our babysitter is about to
crash through our door at any moment now.”
She quickly covered herself and sat up straight in our
bed, and not a second later, my secret weapon walked through our door.
“Nana Lila! What are you doing here?” Reese asked as
she began to walk over to her grandmother, who was holding our daughter.
“Hush now, you don’t want to wake her. I would have
thought you two would have been up and dressed by now. It’s Valentine’s Day.”
“Yes, I know that, but I just can’t go off and leave
Fallon, no matter what today is.”
“Nonsense! You have plenty of milk stored in the
freezer. She will be fine for a few hours without you. Your loving husband here
has gone to a lot of trouble to make today special for you. I do not want to
hear any arguments about it. You go on now.”
“Okay, I can see how I will not win here. I’m just
going to miss her so much.”
Reese kissed our daughter’s forehead and hugged her
grandmother. I knew she could never say no when it came to Lila. I walked over
and hugged Reese from behind.
“We are not going far, I promise,” I whispered quietly
in her ear. “Please, Reese, I need some time alone with you. Please don’t say
no.”
She turned to face me, and I knew her answer.
“Okay, you win, but next time, no playing the baby
card. I’ve missed you too, Walker, and thank you for making today special.”
“You haven’t seen anything yet. Now, go get ready. You
will find everything you need in your dressing room.”
She did not hesitate and quickly kissed me and left to
get ready. I could not have pulled this off without Lila’s help; she has been a
godsend to us. Reese would only allow Lila to help her with the baby, but I was
slowly getting her used to the idea of having a nanny on hand to help as well.
My girl was stubborn and determined to do everything on her own, but as I said,
I am a selfish man. I am a man who missed his wife and craved some alone time
with her.
As the clock ticked, I was getting nervous waiting for
Reese. Had she changed her mind?
I was going to knock on her door when it suddenly
opened. There she stood. My stunning wife. She was wearing the green corset
that matched her eyes. She had lost all of her baby weight but developed more
curves in all the right places.
“You look beautiful.”
She sighed, “Thank you, Walker.”
She pulled back and stopped.
“What is it?
Come, let’s be on our way. Your surprise awaits,” I said.
“Um, I’m wearing a corset, thigh-high silk stockings
with garters, and four inch stilettos.”
“And? Your point?”
“Where am I going dressed like this? Do I get a robe?”
“Nope.”
The look on her face was priceless...as if I would
allow anyone other than myself to take in what is mine, and mine alone! I did
not want to take the teasing any further, so I handed her a matching robe,
which she happily accepted.
We walked hand in hand out to our gazebo. I knew Reese
would never be comfortable being too far away from our daughter, so bringing
her here was best. I carried her up the stairs and had her close her eyes until
we were inside. I hit the button on the remote, and the skyline brightened with
a thousand sparkling lights. Roses and candles were all over the room.
She opened her eyes and said, “It’s beautiful, Walker!
Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Thank you for taking a broken man and
putting him back together again. You brought me back to life, and it’s a life I
only want to share with you and our family.”
I wrapped my arms around her waist, and we began to
dance. We hardly needed words to communicate with each other. Her body felt so
good up against mine, I could not wait to make love to her. We enjoyed a quiet
dinner and shared a slice of chocolate cheesecake with juicy strawberries. She
had a dripping of chocolate sauce on her lip, further igniting my arousal for
her. I nipped at her lip and licked up the chocolate. I was ready to explode.
“I love you, Reese. If you are not ready, you could
always say no. I’ll wait forever for you.”
She leaned in and stroked my face.
“Make love to me, Walker, and allow me to show you how much I love you.”
I carried her to the rose petal-covered bed and began
to untie the ribbons that covered her back.
“Beautiful.”
When the last ribbon was undone, her flawless back was
completely exposed. I ran my tongue from the top of her spine down to the
bottom of her delectable ass. My beautiful vixen arched her back and opened her
legs to me. She placed her hands on each silk-covered knee, giving me an
invitation to come closer.
I was lost to Reese when it came to seeing her long
legs covered in silk. I could never resist them.
“Let’s leave these on, shall we?”
She hummed in response as I leaned in to kiss her
between her wet folds. I was hungry for her. With my hands on her thighs, keeping
her in place, Reese shuddered under me. She screamed out my name as she rode
out her multiple orgasms, begging for more. Once I knew she was ready, I
removed my clothing and hovered above her.
“You are so breathtaking. I can’t wait to be inside of
you.”
“Stop talking and fuck me, now, Walker! Now!”
“Ask me again. I need to hear it, Reese.”
“Please, Walker, I need you. I want you. I love you.”
Her words ignited my body. They lit a fire deep within
my soul that burned solely for Reese. I knew she was mine. I branded her inside
and out with my mark and still craved to hear her speak the words that sealed
her soul to mine. We made love throughout the night. We would never have enough
of each other, and would always crave more.
She shifted in her sleep, revealing her exposed body
to me. How could she ever doubt herself when she was my reason for breathing?
“Stop staring. I could feel your eyes on me,” she
whispered.
“No surprise there, baby. I can’t help myself when I’m
this close to you.”
“Yeah, and what’s your excuse for the other times?”
“Okay, you have me there,” I replied.
“I want you everywhere,” she whispered.
“You have me, Reese.”
“Always and forever?”
“And then some.”
Happy
Valentine’s Day from Walker & Reese!
